Looking to make a meaningful contribution behind the scenes? Join our Water Department this summer to help keep our records accurate and accessible. In this role, you’ll digitize and organize water service documents by scanning and entering records into our databases. If you’re organized, tech-savvy, and eager to learn how municipal water operations run, this role offers real experience with essential public services.Responsibilities
- Compile and maintain accurate records of inventory quantities and types including:
- Data entry: Transcribe data from various formats, such as paper documents, digital files, or other records into computerized databases, spreadsheets, or specialized software.
- Data verification: Check entered data for accuracy and completeness and correct any errors or discrepancies.
- File organization: Manage and organize both digital and paper files for easy retrieval and access.
- General office tasks: May also include other general office duties, such as scanning documents.
- Support the Business Analyst with data collection, analysis, and report generation.
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Essential:- Minimum Grade 12 and must be returning to a post-secondary school.
- Must have Class G2 Ontario Driver’s License in good standing.
- Excellent computer skills with the ability to use software programs such as Microsoft Office.
- Proficient with data entry and integrity.
Preferred:
- Standard First Aid and CPR training.
- Training with MTO Book 7 for Temporary Conditions, and proven knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other applicable legislation.
- Experience with MESH work order management considered an asset.
- Scheduled 40-hour workweek, which may include weekends and alternate shift hours,
- Will be required to work in office environment,
- May be required to work overtime.
